  • This quote is explaining how it sometimes takes a strong person to be polite and show etiquette. It says that showing rudeness also shows weakness. Etiquette is not always the easiest thing to show but if you do it is well worth it.

  • This quote means that someone who does everything correct according to social standards would be monotonous and boring. A person who exhibits perfect manners would appear to resemble a robot because no person can have perfect etiquette. There is always room for improvement when discussing proper manners.

  • Etiquette is the equivalent to manners and this quote shows that caring about others is what controls our manners. The quote defines what etiquette is and how it affects others in a positive way.

  • You could have all the education in the world but it is useless unless you can be polite and kind and patient you will go nowhere.That is because in order to be successful you need to work your way to the top, under a boss.   • I could not agree with this quote more. To me this quote is saying that etiquette can never be mastered by someone. There are so many rules to follow to have proper etiquette. You can try and work at getter better with manners but never can it be perfect.

This is so because your respect for others will bring you respect and help you out in different situations throughout your life.

  • To better understand this quote myself I had the look up the definition of hypocrisy. Upon finding this I evaluated that when Bierce says that etiquette, or politeness is the most acceptable hypocrisy he is saying that it is the only standard approved by society. In Bierce’s mind, having proper etiquette is the only way to best way moral.

  • Mrs. Parker is saying that if a person has mastered everything about etiquette and has become socially correct then they have no life basically. Their life is basically dull and boring with no excitement because they do everything perfect according to social standards and they are seen as stuck up and snobby.

Siebert is saying that manners are necessary. They may not help you in a situation but they can hurt you if you dont have them. For example at and interview: Manners may not get you the job but if you dont have them they can lose you the job.

  • Rudeness is what weak people resort to. The strongest people are those who display good etiquette and with that they gain respect and strength.

• This quote is saying people develop an etiquette for each other so they can get along and not have too many problems. Having manners is what saves human values because people respect each other more with the values they have and the way they treat each other.

• This quote is stating the obvious that our laws are generally based on society's beliefs acceptable behavior, which is generally what etiquette is.

• This quote identifies the fact that most people try to beat eachother out by means of destroying anothers reputation, or humiliating another. Billings is saying that anybody can ruin somebody else in a rude and disrespectful way, but a true victory is by being polite to the point of disgust. And what can the other person say to that? Nothing, because you did not disrespect them, you just demonstrated proper etiquette.
